They say the most stressful things in life are a death, a birth, and a move. I vote adding “going on a job interview” to this list. There are just so many things to remember to do! Smile, be engaging, remember your accomplishments. Shake hands, take the person’s business card and use their first name when speaking to them, etc. Here are 5 “holy grail” products that you need to take with you to your interview. They’ll help you avoid losing focus on the important things – like why you are the perfect candidate for the job!
5 Products You Need To Take To Your Job Interview
Carpe Antiperspirant Hand Lotion
Carpe Antiperspirant Hand Lotion. Do your hands get clammy? Do you dread shaking hands with people? Or do you think you MIGHT even have a hint of clamminess while at your job interview and it fills you with dread? This stuff prevents it. It’s at the top of this list for a reason.
To use, apply it to dry hands an hour before your interview. Firstly, wash your hands with soap and warm water (not hot, try not to change the temperature of your palms). Then, apply a dime-sized amount to your hands. Remember to spread it up to your fingertips too. If you’re blessed like me, it’s not just your palms that sweat, it’s your fingertips also. Once dry, your hands with feel a little powdery and super smooth, and your hands will stay dry! Reminder: washing your hands will wash the product off. As a result, you’ll have to start the process over if you wash your hands before your interview.
Downy Wrinkle Releaser
Downy Wrinkle Releaser, travel size. I don’t think enough people know about this product. This spray will take the wrinkles out of your clothes, which you are bound to get in your interview outfit/suit in your car or on the train to your interview. This stuff also works on dry-clean-only fabrics.
Folding Hair Brush with Mirror
Folding hair brush with mirror. You never know what the weather is going to do or what you’re going to encounter on your route into your interview. For instance, the wind could kick up, it could’ve started raining, or the humidity got to you. Also, wrap extra hair ties around the handle because you know never know when one might break.
Oil Blotting Papers
Oil blotting papers. You want to feel like you’re looking your best when you’re in an interview. Don’t feel pressured to wear makeup if you usually don’t. Now is not the time for exploration. However, I believe it is important to look put together enough to impress your interviewer. To take away any shininess on your skin, simply take one of these papers and blot your T-zone gently. It’ll remove any excess oil that might have popped up.
Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo, travel size. If you don’t use dry shampoo almost daily, then you likely don’t have bangs or you have hair of the gods. I’m jealous, if you do. Dry shampoo gives you volume at the root with just a short spray or two. It’s the perfect refresh to touch up your look before you head in to the office! Batiste is my favorite.
These five products are lifesavers and I hope you remember to take these 5 products in your bag next time you head to a job interview!
